Healthy finance seminars and events for Bendigo Bank Community Branches

THE PROBLEM

How to grow community bank branches without the support of national ad campaigns available to bigger banks?

How to demonstrate branches are community-based and not ‘traditional’ banks?

THE SOLUTION for individuals

I ran several local seminars, often in English and the local language (Chinese & Hindi), using local, trusted businesses and inspirational speakers provided by head office. Seminars included insights into local residential market, investing and financial independence of women and students.

THE RATIONALE

Events delivered by local, trusted business leaders and professionals helped bridge the divide between locals, ethnic groups and branch staff. The information was high quality and events were held in local venues such as RSLs and church halls to showcase local community groups. It helped bank staff get to know new customers and understand them.

THE SOLUTION for business & govt.

I assisted the board in setting up evening seminars / dinners with local community leaders, politicians and business.

THE RATIONALE

A social space that allowed each community leader to build stronger relationships with others in their community. Allowed circles of influence to intersect.
